Terms of Service

Last updated 18 October 2026

These are the rules for using Sports Business Portal. By creating an account or publishing a listing you agree to them. We have tried to keep them readable rather than impressive.

Draft. This page still contains placeholder operator details and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Fill in lib/legal.ts and have it reviewed before the portal takes real sign-ups.

Who we are

The portal is operated by TODO — registered legal name, TODO — registered address (TODO — company or VAT number). "We" and "us" mean that company; "you" means whoever is using the portal.

What the portal is

Sports Business Portal is a classifieds marketplace for the sports business industry: jobs, conferences, education, reports and tenders. We are a venue, not a party. We do not employ anyone advertised here, do not run the events listed, do not publish the reports, and do not award the tenders. Any agreement you reach with another user is between the two of you.

Your account

  • You must be at least 16, and give accurate details when you sign up.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • One person or organisation per account. Don't impersonate anyone or claim to represent an organisation you don't.
  • You can delete your account at any time, which removes your listings with it.

What you post

You keep ownership of everything you publish. By publishing it you give us permission to display, store and distribute it on the portal, and to show extracts in search results — nothing more. You confirm you have the right to publish it and that it is accurate.

Don't post anything that:

  • is false, misleading, or advertises something that doesn't exist;
  • discriminates in a way the law forbids — job adverts in particular must comply with employment and equal treatment law;
  • infringes someone else's copyright, trade mark or confidentiality;
  • contains personal data about other people without their agreement;
  • is a scam, a pyramid or chain scheme, a request for an up-front fee from applicants, or bulk unsolicited advertising;
  • is unlawful, abusive, or makes the portal worse for everyone else.

Listings marked Sample are examples we published ourselves to show the format. They are not real opportunities and nobody is behind them.

Moderation

We can edit, hide or remove a listing, and suspend or close an account, if it breaks these terms or the law. Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you why and give you a chance to reply. If you think we got it wrong, write to hello@sportsbusinessportal.com and a person will look at it again.

Price

Publishing is currently free. If we introduce paid plans we will say so clearly before anything is charged, and we will never start charging for something you already published on the basis that it was free. Prices quoted in listings are set by whoever published them, not by us.

Availability

We aim to keep the portal running but we don't promise it will always be available, and we may change or discontinue features. We will give reasonable notice before withdrawing something you depend on.

Our responsibility, and its limits

We are responsible for running the portal with reasonable care. We are not responsible for what other users publish, for whether an advertised opportunity is genuine or suitable, or for the outcome of any dealing between users. Check who you are dealing with before sending money, documents or personal information.

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law — including your rights as a consumer, which these terms do not affect.

Your data

How we handle personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell registered users by email and give notice before it takes effect; continuing to use the portal afterwards means you accept it. These terms are governed by the law of Greece, and its courts have jurisdiction — though if you are a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in.
